WILLIAMS-SONOMA
This project entailed re-opening the original Williams-Sonoma store in part of an existing commercial structure in Sonoma, and creating additional retail and cooking school spaces in the remaining building space.
Crome served as the architect of record for the project and was involved in the process from inception to design, permitting, and construction.
This project was unique in that it was a very sentimental project for the Williams-Sonoma company. Chuck Williams was interviewed to provide design recollections for the original store space, along with archival photos. Although it is a Williams-Sonoma store, the “residence” portion of the site serves as a showroom for various WSI brand items, including Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and Rejuvenation. The space also serves events using the cooking school space and outdoor kitchen with built-in pizza oven. The landscape in the garden is edible and is used in their operations.
